Jonathan Parker, 25, still appeared to be trying to intimidate Eugene Mills, the man he stabbed more than 20 times last March on Jackson Street, as he walked into court Friday.
Mills crawled from his apartment to a neighbor's porch trying to get help.
"From the way the blood looks, I slid all the way down the (stairs) rails with the blood spurting out like a water faucet. " says Mills
Parker pled guilty to attempted murder and robbery. Prosecutors said Parker tried to smother Mills before going to work on him with a steak knife and stealing $200.00.
In court, Jonathan Parker says " I accept that the jury would believe his testimony over mine. That's why I'm pleading."
The plea deal dismisses some other charges, including malicious wounding. Prosecutors will recommend a 40 years sentence. The judge is not bound by that recommendation.
Still no completely recovered from his wounds, Mills says that he knows he lucky to be alive.
Parker also plead guilty to breaking and entering in an unrelated theft at a camera store. He will be sentenced December 11th, right now he remains in jail.
