Veterans at the VA Hospital in Wayne County are wanting their voices heard, and their vote counted.
That's why many veterans showed the power of the pen Friday, and registered to vote.
"We live in a country that allows us the choice to choose our leaders," Navy veteran Kregg Parenti said. "And I want to be a part of that choice."
Parenti says it's important for all veterans to get involved and be ready for the November elections.
"They still have a voice, and they should still be able to speak out and say what it is they believe they want," he said.
Roger McCallister is a volunteer at the hospital and is also an Air Force veteran. He's urging veterans to exercise their God-given right.
"If we don't, I'm afraid we'll lose it," McCallister said. "It's like that, use it or lose it, and I really believe that."
The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Early voting begins Oct. 15.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 27, and Election Day is Nov. 4.
