The Milton Flea Market fire left one fire engine from the Ona Volunteer Fire Department heavily damaged after fire fighters were forced to abandon the truck, due to the intense heat.
"They've been there for us when we needed help, so we can do something nice for them," Ona fifth grader Spencer Conley said.
Now thanks to Conley and the rest of the students at Ona Elementary, the engine is up and running with a new look.
"In honor of their name, we called it 'The Panther'," Ona fire fighter, Dana Ryder, said.
Calling it after the school that raised over $400 to help get the fire engine fixed.
"For a school to come out there with the kids coming up with the money on their own and giving us $400 to help fix our truck, that's great," Ryder said.
Teachers at Ona Elementary say donating the money has given the students a great boost of pride.
