West Virginia State Police say Nathan Scott Phillips, 28, was arrested Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. after troopers discovered him at a residence on Stover Road. Troopers also found the car Tuesday morning on Falcon Drive off Route 21 in Charleston around 8:30 a.m.
Investigators say the suspect asked John Dieges for help and then used a gun to take his car.
The suspect was captured on several security cameras in Huntington. He offered the victim money to drive him to Charleston where he said his girlfriend was about to have a baby.
The man told him he lived on Stover Road near Dunbar.
Troopers say the suspect is about 6 feet three inches tall.
