A few minutes after Charles Woods sat down in the defense chair, he got up and walked right back out.
"It just seems like they keep pushing and pushing, you don't know what they're going to do," Paul Blake's mother, Mollie, said.
Woods is facing a negligent homicide charge for the death of Paul Blake, which carries a sentence of 12 months in jail.
He's also facing a charge of possession of a firearm, which carries two to five years behind bars.
But while Woods talks over the charges with his lawyer, the case keeps getting postponed.
"I think it's good because they're going to have more time to investigate," Blake's daughter, LeAnn said.
She wants the charges upgraded to first degree murder so Woods is sentenced to 15 years to life behind bars.
"He took my dads life, why can't he get life in prison for what he did?" she said.
Woods is scheduled to be back in court Thursday, Sept. 11 at 1:15.
