A police standoff in Boone county has ended with the shooting death of Jessie White of Ottawa.
Boone County Sheriffs Deputies surrounded White's house in the Ottawa area, where he had barricaded himself with what authorities call an arsenal.
The standoff closed Route 17 in Boone County for hours.
Ramage Elementary School was on lock down, but students were let go. Some of them had to wait on school buses for hours to be reunited with family.
At about 7:30 pm, people at the scene could hear a hail of gunfire.
At 9:00 pm, a medical examiner was called to the scene.
