A local sailor is helped deliver aid to the people in the war torn Republic of Georgia.
Charleston native Josh Bailey is a Navy lieutenant abroad the U.S.S. McFaul.
The ship picked up relief supplies in Crete then sailed to the Georgian port city of Batumi last week. The crew delivered more than 70 palettes of supplies that included baby food, bottled water and various hygiene items.
Bailey said the Georgian people welcomed the help. The McFaul was one of three U.S. ships taking part in the relief mission.
