Cancer affects thousand of West Virginians every year, and now a mobile screening unit is getting a financial boost.
With the help of Senator Robert Byrd, the US Department of Health and Human Services has given Marshall University over $1.35 million for it's cancer screening projects.
Right now the state of the art vehicle travels to rural parts of southern West Virginia and conducts cancer screenings.
The grant will allow the school to continue operating the vehicle and also develop a "virtual colonoscopy" program.
