It took 6 years but Nan Glover's 1941 Ford truck is finally finished.
Nan Glover, South Charleston, "It's amazing I never dreamed it'd be done by this time."
Nan's husband Steve made it his mission to build the truck after his wife was diagnosed with cancer.
Nan's breast cancer is in remission but the unthinkable struck twice.
Ron Fortner, Golden Oldies, "Things turned serious in November. Found out the cancer was back."
Nan is now battling cancer in her lung and liver.
But she is a fighter and Nan's not letting the disease slow her down.
Nan Glover, "You can only do what you can do."
While Nan and Steve dealt with crushing news of more cancer, friends from the Golden Oldies Car Club made finishing the truck named Rose their primary mission.
Even more sadness came to the project when 77 year old Joe Parenti died of pancreatic cancer, he built the engine.
The truck is decked out in pink from the grill to the rims in honor of breast cancer awareness.
Nan hopes others will take cancer prevention seriously
Nan Glover, "That's what we're thriving for you know. Make people aware."
The truck might not be the easiest to drive but if Nan has her way, she'll have plenty of time to learn.
Nan Glover, "I'm gonna be having a good time doing it."
Nan Glover will start another round of chemotherapy September 2, 2008.
