They don't have too much to say right now, but Marshall Student Ambassador Aaron Ryan believes the nerves are saying it all.
"We just try to let everybody know that we've really been there before," Ryan said. "We know what they're going through and we're here to help them."
And because Ryan feels the pain of being an incoming freshman, he has no problem showing newcomers around campus.
"It's a little scary at first," MU Freshman Dana Zambrotta said. "Because you're away from home and you're so used to living with your parents."
Now without her parents to turn to for guidance, Zambrotta's relying on students like Ryan to point her in the right direction.
"The nice thing about campus is that the buildings are not so far away from each other," Zambrotta said. "But when you go inside, some of them are really confusing to find your way around."
Ryan says the first few days on campus can be overwhelming for freshmen, but says in a matter of days, they'll feel right at home.
"I think after the first week, or the first week and a half of classes, everyone here's pretty much settled in."
