These players enjoy an afternoon game of no limit Texas Hold 'Em. When Tri-State opened its doors this morning offering poker on a full-time basis, dozens of people were in line waiting for a chance to win the pot.
But an even more enthusiastic response greeted dealers during Thursday night's "soft opening." Ironically, the only hiccup was in how popular poker turned out to be.
Hundreds jammed the Big Easy room to ante up and play Texas Hold 'Em, Omaha Hi-Lo and Stud.
The track's opening night poker take was $10, 246.00, the state gets 35 percent of that.
The lottery's director of table games says they'll work with the track to find ways to take the expected opening night pressure off of the remaining table games when they eventually open.
