25 year old Quinton Peterson's face says it all. Peterson was found guilty of first degree murder for shooting Phillip Sirmons in November 2007.
When the verdict was read Peterson's family couldn't contain their disbelief.
Phillip Sirmons' mother, Vikki, "I'm just happy justice was served."
Vikki Sirmons wears a shirt honoring her dead son, she says in this case even a guilty verdict isn't a victory.
Vikki Sirmons, "I'm a mother. I know she's got to be hurting too but I can't get mine back. At least she can go visit hers."
Outside the courtroom the chaos continued for Peterson's family.
Peterson Family Member, "They had no (expletive) physical evidence. Dumb (expletive)."
The group was forced out of the building. While waiting outside their rant continued.
"Get the (expletive) camera out of my face."
Cabell County Sheriff's deputies had enough.
Peterson's sister was arrested and escorted back into the courthouse.
The saga isn't over.
Both sides will have to meet again when Peterson is sentenced.
Sirmons' says she wants the jury to give her son's killer a life behind bars with no mercy.
Vikki, "Because my son's dead, he should be dead. I'm not for that but I think he should stay in jail for the rest of his life."
Peterson will be sentenced August 12, 2008.
