A mother accused of child neglect causing the death of her 22-month-old son tries to get out of jail.
Elizabeth Thornton is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
Deputies say a family friend called 911 after she found Thornton's child, Alexander Washburn, laying in the floor of their Cross Lanes apartment with bruises on his neck and his chin.
Thornton's lawyer argued that she did not let her child go for days without medical help, and that her bond was excessive.
The judge dropped the cash only requirement, but, kept the bond at $100,000.
If convicted Thornton faces three to five years in prison.
