Police are still looking for four men who tried to kick and shoot their way into a West Side apartment Tuesday morning. 34-year-old J.R. Hines was hit in both legs by the shell that blasted through his apartment door on Mathews Avenue.
Hines describes the four suspects as young, thin black males wearing white tank tops. One had a shirt over his head and a gun. Hines says the home invaders came through an adjacent apartment but did not steal anything from there. He's unsure if he was the victim of random break-in or a specific target of someone who doesn't like him.
If you have any information on this crime, call the Charleston Police Department at (304)348-6480.
