They won't be spending any time behind bars, but two Charleston police officers will be fined for illegally shooting a deer.
Conrad Carpenter and James White have been suspended from the force since December when they shot a deer in Putnam County.
It happened in Tricia Garnes' yard. She says her husband saw the cops shoot the deer from their vehicle.
Garnes also says the officers used the headlights on their car to spotlight the animal.
Carpenter and White were originally charged with spotlighting but that charged was dropped for lesser pleas.
Carpenter plead to hunting in a car, shooting within 500 feet of a house and illegally possessing wildlife.
White plead to illegally possessing wildlife.
Now the officers have fines to pay for the crime, but they have six months to do so.
