The governor called a State of Emergency.
The counties that are under the emergency are Gilmer, Barbour, Doddridge, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Ritchie, Taylor, Tucker, Tyler, Upshur, And Wetzel Counties even before the river flood hit.
The National Weather Service says the west central part of West Virginia saw more than 3 inches, which was the heaviest recorded rain fall during Wednesday storms.
Flooding problems in the Little Kanawha River also closed Grantsville in Calhoun County. Minor problems were reported along other rivers in Clarksburg, Philippi And Buckhannon.
