Corporal Keith Peoples was a standout out in tracking down people and bringing them to justice. The 44-year-old officer found himself in court facing felony charges on Tuesday.
A visibly shaken Peoples plead not guilty to charges of computer fraud and obtaining by fraudulent schemes.
Peoples is the latest target of the city's double dipping probe into cops working security for the Charleston Town Center Mall while on duty for the city at the same time. Court documents allege he double dipped for at least 478 hours.
Peoples is free on a one-thousand dollar bond. His trial is set for October.
