Hurricane High School was added to the Newsweek's list of the best high schools in the country. It is an honor school leaders and students say they have earned. The school is on the list for the first time, coming in at 1081 out of 1300.
Assistant Principal Michael Ellis says, "I graduated from this school 44 years ago and it was a good school then, but its an even better school today. I feel like kids get a real quality education."
Hurricane High is one of only three West Virginia Schools to make the list, George Washington High School came in at number 658 and Morgantown High School is ranked 1182.
