In the 326 page deposition, Rich Rodriguez admits to calling two Michigan Football recruits with a cell phone provided by West Virginia University, the day he announced his departure. He also admits to telling star recruit Terrell Pryor he was going to Michigan before he told his team.
The former coach spoke of a power struggle with school officials and said he felt stuck in the middle. Rodriguez details a late night conversation with Garrison, where they talked about promises that were made about improving the football program. The conversation took place on December 15th, two days before Rodriguez was introduced at Michigan.
So now we know how each side will go after the other. Rodriguez will paint WVU as breaking the promises and WVU will paint Rodriguez as greedy, but there is no way to tell if the former coach will have to pay the $4 million dollar buyout.
