Main Kwong owner Carina Kwok knows her customers are facing tough times, and she is too.
She says the price of cooking oil could possibly drive her prices up. The price of cooking last year was $14 dollars and this has raised to $28.50. Carina says not only is oil going but so is rice, it has nearly tripled to $48 for a hundred pound bag.
She says she is trying no to raise the prices at the restaurant, but she may have to raise them one day just to keep up. The increases are part of a global rise in food prices.
