Despite the rain and rising diesel prices hundreds of truckers made their way to the State Capitol Friday, in protest of the rising gas prices. Truckers say Governor Joe Manchin and the Legislature need to do something to combat diesel prices that have raised to over $4.00 a gallon. They say the high prices are costing them over $2000.00 a week to fill up, putting several out of business. They say they can't do it on their own and that people needs to band together, or else everyone will continue to feel the pain at the pump. Governor Manchin was out of town and couldn't meet personally with the truckers but his representatives said he is doing everything he can to help lower gas prices. He plans to write letters to President Bush and also calling others in Washington to see what can be done.
