Fire investigators suspect arson in a blaze that destroyed a car, gutted a house and damaged another home on Charleston's West Side. Flames roared thru Kim Witzke home on West Washington Street Thursday morning, where she almost lost her life. She says she owes her life to her dog, Baby, who alerted Witzke to the fire. Next door, Rayfield McDonald noticed smoke and the outside of his home melting from the fire. Firefighters managed to stop the flames from destroying McDonald's residence and the house on the opposite side. Inside the garage a car that had reportedly not been used for three weeks was destroyed. Some of the fire appeared to come from inside the car while the engine compartment seemed to be damaged from the outside. Fire investigators are suspicious, saying the fire may likely be arson. Fire investigators want to conduct additional interviews before making a final call on this suspicious fire
