After months of hard work by state legislators, a new law limiting the time children can ride the school bus was signed Thursday. Under the new law a time limit has been placed on how long students can ride a bus to and from school. The new law recommends elementary school children spend no more than 30 minutes, 45 minutes for middle school and an hour for high school students. Thomas Ramey , who helped to spearhead the bill , says the law will really make a difference when schools are built or closed. Starting July 1st, any new school built must make sure elementary school students do not ride buses for longer than an hour. Unfortunately the law doesn't fix the problem for all children, some will still have to ride the same length until more changes are made.
