Talk show host, Montel Williams shares Megan Williams' story with his audience on his Thursday morning show. By focusing his program on hate crimes and torture survivors, Montel Williams shines the spotlight on Megan Williams and her ordeal.
Megan's mother Carmen also appeared on the program, in which they talked about hate crimes and torture survivors. He also wondered why no one had been charged with a hate crime in the case. The show was taped months ago before 46-year-old Karen Burton was indicted for and admitted to violating Megan's civil rights.
At the conclusion of her visit, Montel gave Megan a new computer, offered six months of tutoring to help her get her GED and presented her with a two-year, $20,000 scholarship from ITT Institute.
