The fire started around 3:00 a.m. Friday morning on Daisy Drive. People living in two apartments there were not home at the time. Investigators say so far the fire appears accidental, but the neighborhood has been the scene of multiple unsolved arsons.
Bill Reed, one of the residents, arrived home about 2:40 a.m. just in time to see flames pouring from a window in his home at 1810 Daisy Drive. Fire investigators say the blaze started in Reed's bedroom and spread to consume the entire structure. Firefighters tried to save the home, but they could only prevent the flames from spreading thru the west side neighborhood.
City fire investigators will continue to interview people living in the building, and the police officers on scene.
