A fatal crash in Elkview could have been caused by severe weather. The accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. on the Queen Shoals Bridge, on Route 4. Mary Villa, 25, was killed when a pickup truck collided with her mini-van. The Clay County mother of two was leaving her job at Shafer's Super Stop, and returning home. Emergency workers say slick roads could have been to blame.
The driver of a tractor trailer escaped injury after the truck skidded on an icy bridge and overturned. The accident happened just south of the Elkview exit on Interstate 79, Friday morning. The clean-up closed down southbound lanes for several hours.
