A Cross Lanes couple was hit by a car and killed as they walked along the interstate Wednesday morning. 44-year old Kent Brewer and his wife 40-year old Bethana were walking on the shoulder of Interstate-64 around 2 am near the Cross Lanes exit. Their car had run out of gas.

Police say Sarah Preece of Louisa, Kentucky was driving the car that hit the couple, but she hasn't been charged. She told police she was pulling off the road to use her cell phone when she hit the victims.
