Today's rally to support alleged torture victim, Megan Williams, was more of a local affair after national black leaders failed to show up.
Hundreds of strangers came together to show their support for Megan. Most have never met her and have only heard about her story.
Rally organizers promised national black leaders like Al Sharpton. He didn't show up. About two dozen members of the New Black Panther Party were on hand.
There was no controversy, no protests, nothing but three hours of sunny skies and peaceful people.
Black Lawyers for Justice leader, Malik Shabazz, devoted nearly as much of his speech to Charleston mayor, Danny Jones, as he did to Megan Williams.
Megan Williams Spoke about the human spirit and her strength to survive the ordeal.
Around 700 people hit the streets, marching for a woman who show says she never thought she would walk out of that Logan County shed alive.
