One women is dead and her husband is in an Intensive Care Unit after a shooting in Nicholas County on Wednesday.
The small community of Birch River was rocked by the shooting of Elizabeth and Daren Spinks. Elizabeth was shot to death and both were found outside their home.
Tony Coffman says he has known Daren all of his life. The two grew up as neighbors. Coffman says, "It's sad, for something like this that's so unexpected, no warning signs."
Police have not made any arrests. They say this is not a random shooting.
