There is a new "Cool School" in Kanawha County this week. Cross Lanes Elementary was given the title Friday, Nov. 15, after showing some cool traits.

Eyewitness News Meteorologist Brandon Stover was there to take it all in that day.

From raising baby trout, to using I-pads to working as a team to build a small bridge, there are many reasons this school is cool. It's the only school that has 40 minutes of gymnasium time a day for every student.

About 100 kids came out early to get a chance to showcase their school. The faculty and staff also were on hand to explain their classes and the students.

Principal Vanessa Brown said it's all about the people at Cross Lanes Elementary.
