BEHIND THE KITCHEN DOOR
We're coming to you this week from Bridge Road Bistro, I'll have more on that in a minute, but first let's get straight to this week's Behind the Kitchen Door.
RECENT KITCHEN DOORS OPENEDWe start this morning at Country Pride restaurant at 4195 Rt. 34 in Hurricane. Inspectors found 10 violations including 4 critical. Putnam County health inspectors said the cutting board was dirty-that was corrected, the milk shake machine was also dirty. there was also food in the freezer that wasn't date marked. A cooking pan was encrusted, the stove was dirty, so was the inside of the oven. Up next, Mi Pueblito at 410 Hurricane Creek Road in Hurricane. Inspectors found 7 violations, but 6 were critical. There were unlabeled spray bottles, a can opener and probe thermometer were dirty, eggs were stored improperly, food was being reheated improperly, and an employee was scooping rice from a pot using a plate with no handle. Next we head over to the Hungry Hound at 69 Main St. in Poca. Inspectors found 7 violations, including 5 critical. There was outdated food and food stored at an unsafe temperature. There were unlabeled chemical bottles stored above food and the vegetable cutter wasn't sanitized before being put away. All those criticals were corrected. Things are going well here at Bridge Road Bistro. Chef Robert Wong owns the Bistro and has more on the big Haiti Relief Fund benefit here Monday. |
