Charleston's Eyewitness News Good Morning West Virginia
"Friendly, funny and warm" are the three most used adjectives viewers use to describe Good Morning West Virginia. We'll get you caught up with all the day's news stories and provide the latest and most up to date weather information to start your day. The 2 hour long program, starting at 5:00 every weekday morning, is a combination of news, weather, traffic, sports and even entertainment. Our weekly segments include live call-ins with the area's most trusted experts, including everything from dental questions, pediatric care, and plant and garden questions. Good Morning West Virginia is the only show in the region giving our viewers the chance to show off their photography skills in our daily "Snapshot" segment. On Fridays, one viewer whose snapshot is used on the air is given a "GMWV" Coffee mug. GMWV is also the only morning show to wish folks across the region a Happy Birthday. We provide the lunch menus for schools and the latest school closing and delay information. The Mountain State is promoted weekly through Photojournalist Brad Rice's "Traveling West Virginia" Series every Friday. Eyewitness News photographer Wes Armstead keeps track of overnight breaking news and is often first on the scene of major breaking events along with Senior Reporter Bob Aaron. The newscast is produced by Elisabeth Shaffer-Lilly and directed by Shannon Davis. News is serious, but the Good Morning West Virginia crew shows everyday that there's always an opportunity to laugh and have fun a couple hours each morning. We welcome your calls, e-mails and comments to give you a chance to interact with us on a daily basis. |
