G. Garvin's Blackening Spice

G. Garvin uses this spice mixture as a seasoning on many of his recipes. It is a great staple to keep on hand. G. Garvin is cooking on Good Morning America.

Ingredients
Blackening spice (makes about 2/3 cup)

2 tablespoons red pepper flakes

2 tablespoons garlic powder

2 tablespoons onion powder

2 tablespoons dark chili powder

1 tablespoon paprika

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon celery powder

Pinch of cayenne pepper

Directions

Stir together all blackening spice ingredients. You can store extra blackening spice in an airtight container.

Makes about 2/3 cup.
