WCHS-TV and Fox 11 want to help area kids get a good start to the school year with Backpack Attack 2011. Teaming up with area businesses the goal is to get backpacks containing basic supplies to benefit students in Kanawha, Boone and Cabell Counties. The program was very successful last year, contributing more than 300 backpacks full of supplies to area children. Area residents who would like to help can drop off their donations at WCHS-TV and Fox 11 in Charleston or Huntington.Basic supplies for elementary school students include paper, crayons, glue sticks and pencils. For older children in middle and/or high school, three-ring binders, index cards, spiral notebooks should be considered in addition to pens, pencils and paper. Donations will be accepted through August 12, 2011. Please join us in helping local area students. For information on receiving on backpack and supplies please contact your school board.
