Ryan Merriman Nikko Zond on Veritas: The Quest
At 19, Ryan Merriman has already developed an extensive list of film and television credits which have enabled him to work with some of Hollywood's most respected actors.His career began in commercials and local theater in Oklahoma before he headed to Los Angeles at age 10, where he gained steady work in film and television. Merriman's first series regular role was on the television sitcom "The Mommies." He then starred as young Jarod on the hit series "The Pretender," for which he received two consecutive Young Artist Awards of Hollywood for Outstanding Performance in a Drama Series, Supporting Actor, as well as a nomination for The Hollywood Reporter Award for a YoungStar Award. Merriman has had leading roles in several television films, including "Dangerous Child," "Rocket's Red Glare," "The Luck of the Irish," "Smart House" (garnering The Hollywood Reporter nomination for YoungStar Award), "Night Ride Home" and "Lansky." Dennis Quaid directed him in the role of Nathan Clay in "Everything That Rises," for which he was awarded a Young Artist Award for Outstanding Performance in a TV Film, Lead Actor. On the silver screen he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Michelle Pfeiffer's long-lost son in "The Deep End of the Ocean." He was presented his fourth Young Artist Award of Hollywood for this film, as well as a nomination for The Hollywood Reporter YoungStar Award. He also starred in "Just Looking," which was directed by Jason Alexander. Merriman will next be seen in the upcoming feature film, "Halloween: Resurrection," and the Disney Channel's production of "Ring of Endless Light," which co-stars Mischa Barton and James Whitmore. In his free time, Merriman enjoys spending time with his family, friends and three dogs. An avid sportsman, his activities include baseball, horseback riding, dirt biking, jet skiing and camping. In addition he is involved with Eagle Mount, an organization that offers athletics and other special activities for disabled children in Bozeman, Montana, as well as with the Oklahoma City Infant Crisis Center.
