Jeffrey Tambor's credits extend across the full range of the entertainment world, from film to network and cable television to theater. His body of work is extensive and spans the last three decades.

The multi-talented actor starred in the HBO hit series "The Larry Sanders Show" for six successful seasons. For his role as Hank Kingsley, the sidekick to Garry Shandling's Sanders, he was nominated four times for an Emmy Award, as well as for four CableACE Awards and an American Comedy Award.

Tambor has many television credits, including regular and recurring stints on such series as "Hill Street Blues," "L.A. Law," "American Dreamer," "Studio 5B" and "Max Headroom." He starred in his own series, "Mr. Sunshine," and guest-starred in the "Dead Right" episode of HBO's horror anthology series "Tales From the Crypt," as well as in the PBS special, "Living and Working in Space: The Countdown Has Begun," and HBO's "Comic Relief VI."

He guest-starred on many of the most popular series of the 80's and 90's, including "M*A*S*H," "Barney Miller," "The Golden Girls," "Empty Nest," "Who's the Boss?," "Doogie Howser, M.D.," "Equal Justice" and "Murder, She Wrote," and he recently appeared in ABC's "The Practice."

Tambor made his film debut with his critically acclaimed performance as Al Pacino's deranged law partner in Norman Jewison's 1979 film, "And Justice For All." More recent film credits include a co-starring role in "Pollack," Ed Harris' opus to artist Jackson Pollack. He was also seen as the Mayor of Whoville in "Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Additional film credits include "Girl Interrupted," "Get Well Soon" and "Meet Joe Black." Tambor also co-starred in two of the most successful films of 1998: Eddie Murphy's remake of "Dr. Doolittle" and "There's Something About Mary."

Tambor has done a number of cable movies as well, including the TNT Original Movie "The Man Who Captured Eichmann," and HBO Pictures' "Weapons of Mass Distraction," Larry Gelbart's acerbic comedy.

His most recent film appearance is in USA Films' "Never Again," an offbeat romantic comedy directed by Eric Schaeffer in which he co-stars opposite Jill Clayburgh. The film takes a compassionate look at two lovelorn fifty-something New Yorkers.

Tambor has appeared extensively on the legitimate stage, starring on Broadway in "Sly Fox," directed by Arthur Penn; off-Broadway in the New York Shakespeare Festival's production of "Measure for Measure," and in the Los Angeles productions of "Sly Fox," "The Hands of its Enemy," "Flea in Her Ear" and "American Mosaic." In 1995 he starred on stage in Anton Chekhov's timeless classic, "The Seagull," at The Matrix Theatre in Los Angeles.

He directed Lanford Wilson's "Burn This" at the Skylight Theatre in Los Angeles. Over the course of his impressive theatrical career, he acted and directed at various prestigious regional theatre companies, such as the Academy Festival Theatre in Chicago and the Loeb Drama Center at Harvard University. His work on the regional stage included theatrical styles ranging from such classic playwrights as Shakespeare, Molière and Chekhov to more contemporary works.

Tambor started studying acting at age 12 in San Francisco, where he was born and raised. He continued to study his craft at San Francisco State, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to complete his Masters degree in theatre arts at Wayne State University and became a member of the Hilberry Classic Theatre, a repertory company.

Tambor currently lives in Los Angeles, where he teaches acting classes and is the co-owner of Skylight Books in Los Feliz. He was recently married to longtime girlfriend Kasia Ostlun.
