Joshua Malina Jeremy Goodwin on Sports Night
Joshua Malina graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in theater in 1988. He immediately moved to Manhattan to pursue a career in acting. There he had the good fortune to meet playwright Aaron Sorkin, who was readying his play, "A Few Good Men," for its New York run. In 1989, Malina realized a dream, making his professional and Broadway debuts in the courtroom drama. He ultimately appeared in the national touring company and the feature film version of the play as well. The relationship between actor and writer has continued throughout the years, with Malina appearing in the Sorkin-penned feature films, "Malice" and "The American President." This fall, Joshua co-stars in the new ABC series, "Sports Night," of which Sorkin is creator and executive producer. Currently, Malina can be seen in the Warren Beatty film, "Bulworth," and the independent feature, "Clockwatchers." He has also appeared on the big screen in "In the Line of Fire." On television last season, Malina appeared in a memorable recurring role on "The Larry Sanders Show." He played Kenny Mitchell, the shockingly uncreative creative consultant, whose suggestions to Larry included "Try the show without the desk." He also played data technician Tim Messic in Tom Hanks' "From the Earth to the Moon." Malina is a writer as well as an actor. He and a partner are currently doing a rewrite of a feature film for Brillstein-Grey Entertainment. Malina lives in Los Angeles with his wife, their infant daughter and their two cats.
