Erika Christensen
Mae Anderson on Six Degrees

Erika Christensen
Erika Christensen's character, Mae, is a free spirit, an independent young woman trying to find her way in the big city. She's also hiding from something in her past. Always avoiding danger, Mae creates new identities on the spot, which she sometimes finds necessary for reasons unknown. Her life will take a sudden detour when she meets a young public defender, Carlos, who helps her out of a jam on their first meeting.

In real life Christensen has established herself as one of Hollywood's most talented and sought- after young actresses. On the big screen she will star in Kevin Connolly's directorial debut, "The Gardener of Eden," opposite Lukas Haas and Giovanni Ribisi. Other upcoming films include "How to Rob a Bank" with Nick Stahl, Gavin Rossdale and David Carradine, and "A Hole in the Earth," co-starring Annette Bening and William H. Macy.

Christensen was last seen starring in the blockbuster "Flightplan," opposite Jodie Foster and Peter Sarsgaard. Other recent features include Mike Binder's critically acclaimed film, "The Upside of Anger," opposite Kevin Costner, Joan Allen, Evan Rachel Wood, Keri Russell and Alicia Witt; the high school thriller "Swimfan," opposite Jesse Bradford; "The Perfect Score," with Scarlett Johansson; and "The Banger Sisters," alongside Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn.

Christensen stunned audiences in Steven Soderbergh's Oscar and Golden Globe-winning "Traffic," as Michael Douglas' drug addicted daughter. She, along with the cast, received a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture. Additionally she received the Spirit Award at the 2003 Annual Diversity Awards, an honor bestowed upon an actor who has demonstrated diversity in role choices during his/her career. She also won the Breakthrough Female Performance category at the 2001 MTV Movie Awards.

On television Christensen has appeared on the series "That '70s Show," "Frasier," "The Practice," "The Geena Davis Show," "The Pretender," "Time of Your Life," "Touched by an Angel," "3rd Rock from the Sun," "Nothing Sacred" and "Leave it to Beaver."
