Steven Caseman on Six Degrees

Campbell Scott
Campbell Scott is Steven Caseman, a brilliant and formerly well-respected photographer whose family and career were shattered by his ego and substance abuse. Back from rock bottom, we catch up with him at the beginnings of his personal and professional renewal. Steven will wrestle with new and old demons, as he tries to regain his stature as an artist and to repair his relationship with his young son.

In summer '06 Scott acted in the motion picture "Music and Lyrics by...," with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. This project is the latest addition to over two dozen features that include "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," "The Dying Gaul," "Duma," "St. Ralph," "Dying Young," "The Impostors," "The Daytrippers," "The Spanish Prisoner," " The Secret Lives of Dentists," "Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle," "Singles," "Dead Again," "The Sheltering Sky" and "Big Night," which he co-directed with Stanley Tucci.

Although he has had an extensive film career, Scott is no stranger to television - he was in the Showtime production of "Sweeney Todd," the Hallmark telefilms "Follow the Stars Home" and "The Love Letter," Odyssey's "Hamlet," and ABC's production "The Kennedys of Massachusetts."

Additionally Scott has had the opportunity to perform in many theatre productions. On Broadway he appeared in "Long Day's Journey Into Night," "Ah! Wilderness," "Hay Fever" and "The Real Thing." Off-Broadway performances include "Pericles" at the New York Shakespeare Festival, "Measure for Measure" at Lincoln Center, Roundabout's "A Man for All Seasons," and "On the Bum" at Playwrights Horizons. He can add to this long list of stage work regional productions of "Design for Living'" "Dead End," "Miss Julie," "Hamlet," "Othello," "School for Wives," "Gillette," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Our Town."

Scott's efforts extend behind-the scenes as well. He has directed the plays "Recruiting Officer," "SnakeBit" and "Miss Julie." In addition to co-directing "Big Night" and the TV production "Hamlet," he directed the films "Final," starring Hope Davis and Denis Leary, and "Off the Map," starring Joan Allen and Sam Elliott.

Scott resides in New York and has one child.
