He later continued to pursue his study of acting at the prestigious Juilliard School. He has since worked with some of Hollywood's most respected actors and directors in a number of award-winning feature films, including "The Client," with Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones; "A Perfect World," with Clint Eastwood and Kevin Costner; "Philadelphia," with Tom Hanks; "Presumed Innocent," with Harrison Ford; "Scent of a Woman," with Al Pacino; "My Life," with Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman; and most recently, "Red Corner," with Richard Gere. On television, Whitford has been featured in numerous telefilms, including "Fatal Exposure," "Baby 2000," "Web of Deceit" and "In the Line of Duty: Jeff and Jill." He has also played a recurring character in ABC's "NYPD Blue" and guest-starred in "Touched by an Angel," "ER," "The X-Files" and "Ellen." Whitford's early experience on stage included roles in the Shakespearean productions, "Coriolanus," "Romeo and Juliet," "Richard III," "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Measure For Measure." He later co-starred in the Broadway production of "A Few Good Men," opposite Tim Busfield and Ron Perlman; and off-Broadway in "Curse of the Starving Class," with Kathy Bates. Most recently, Whitford starred in "Three Days of Rain" at the Manhattan Theatre Club. Whitford's wife, Jane Kaczmarek, who is also a well-known actress, has performed in numerous film, television and stage productions.
