The Secret Lives of Men
Formerly Wednesdays on WCHS-TV8

Executive producers Paul Junger Witt, Tony Thomas and Susan Harris, who brought to television such comedy hits as "Soap," "Empty Nest," "Benson" and the multiple Emmy Award-winning "The Golden Girls," introduce a sophisticated, new half-hour comedy about the complicated, funny, sexy and very secret lives of men. "The Secret Lives of Men" shows three thirty-something men, each in various stages of being unmarried, whose only relief comes from a weekly golf game and the support of each other's friendship.

Phil (Brad Whitford), a business manager for athletes, gives new meaning to the term "Type A." With the exception of loving his children, he is proud to be someone who has no feelings at all, or so he claims. Having feelings is one of his biggest secrets.

Michael (Peter Gallagher), a businessman who renovates brownstones, is a scrupulously honest, forthright and honorable man who constantly overcompensates for his family's possibly tainted history and his father's shady past. He misses his kids terribly, and although half the women in Manhattan would love to date him, none of them ever seem to measure up to his ex-wife.

Andy (Mitch Rouse) manufactures artificial fruits and vegetables. Although he's a very masculine guy with a black belt in martial arts and willing to do anything featured in Outside magazine, he is deathly and openly terrified of anything bacterial, viral or invisible.

They live in separate apartments in Manhattan but come together as much as possible on the golf course and in their neighborhood restaurant -- the only thing they got custody of in their respective divorces. Their wives got the kids, the houses, the money; they got exclusive rights to eat Italian food every day of the week at Bocelli's. And they do. This is more their kitchen than a restaurant, and Bocelli's owner, Kate (Christine Dunford), takes care of her three guys. She also knows most of their secrets.

Being single in your thirties is not the same as being single in your twenties. It is less fun but can be funnier; one is supposedly wiser, but not necessarily wise. Being single again is tougher, but being there along with your best friends certainly helps. "The Secret Lives of Men" examines every aspect of the lives of three men on their own again, trying desperately to cope.

Executive produced by Paul Junger Witt, Tony Thomas, Susan Harris and Nina Wass, the series was created by Susan Harris. Susan Palladino serves as producer. Filmed in Los Angeles, "The Secret Lives of Men" is a Witt-Thomas-Harris production.
