Victor Collins on Port Charles

Veteran actor Nicholas Pryor portrays the eccentric and brilliant professor Victor Collins on the ABC Daytime drama "Port Charles." With wild swings from drama to comedy, the professor's scenes with his son Kevin are the definition of "expect the unexpected." Recently revealed to be a still-active intelligence agent, Victor maintains an exciting and sometimes adventurous relationship with his bride, Mary Scanlon.

A native of Baltimore, Nicholas made his New York television debut while still attending Yale University. During runs of a half-dozen Broadway plays, Pryor filled his daytime hours with assignments on "Edge of Night," ABC's "All My Children" and the first six months of "Another World."

Since moving to Los Angeles, Pryor has been seen in recurring roles on "Party of Five" and "Beverly Hills, 90210," where he shared screen time with his real-life wife, Christina Belford. His is a familiar face to made-for-TV movie fans, and his primetime series credits run the gamut from "Who's the Boss?" to ABC's Emmy Award-winning series, "The Practice."

One of Pryor's most recognized feature film roles includes playing Tom Cruise's father in "Risky Business" (his other feature film son was Robert Downey Jr., in "Less Than Zero"). Among his more recent appearances are "Murder at 1600" and the current comedy, "The Bachelor," with "Port Charles'" own Aunt Charlene -- Maree Cheatham.

Nicholas credits the writers for what he describes as "The gift of Victor: He can do the most astonishing things. I've delivered dialogue in nine languages, including Gaelic and Swahili. I've played an accordion and sung grand opera — though not at the same time. With Victor, I can hardly wait for tomorrow."
