Michael Dietz Dr. Joe Scanlon on Port Charles 
Michael Dietz originated the role of Dr. Joe Scanlon in the ABC Daytime drama, "Port Charles." Determined, confident and a straight shooter, Joe Scanlon has embarked on a career of a lifetime as one of the interns at General Hospital. Joe has a short fuse for most of the world, but boundless compassion for his patients. He has been able to overcome his modest upbringing to reach all his dreams. Joe has everything he has ever wanted -- except the one woman he cannot have.Dietz most recently appeared as Alan Michael on "Guiding Light." Other television credits include guest-starring roles on the series, "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Baywatch"; "Someone's Watching," a television movie; and the pilot, "Nowhere Fast." Dietz was born in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, and attended Pennsylvania State University, where he became interested in acting. Following his sophomore year, Dietz drove cross country and met his manager when he tagged along with a friend who was catering a party for Woody Harrelson. Recently, Dietz moved into a new home where he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend. He also enjoys working out, running and playing his guitar. Vital Statistics
