Wortham Krimmer
Reverend Andrew Carpenter on One Life To Live

Wortham Krimmer photo Wortham Krimmer plays Reverend Andrew Carpenter, whose heartfelt advice and gentle demeanor have comforted the souls of many Llanview residents. A deeply passionate man, Andrew is trying to cope with losing his wife, Cassie, to journalist Kevin Buchanan.

Andrew Carpenter is not Wortham's first role on a daytime drama. He is well-known to audiences for playing the evil Cal Winters on "Days of Our Lives," a role that is the complete opposite of Andrew. In 1993, Soap Opera Digest named Andrew Carpenter Best Hero, no doubt for the pivotal role he played in "One Life to Live's" landmark homophobia storyline, which culminated in the display of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Wortham was born and raised in Chicago. At age 17 he left to attend Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where he graduated with a B.A., and where he met his wife Mary Ellen, a Denver native. Wortham headed for law school at the University of California, San Francisco, but two years later realized it was acting that he wanted to pursue. He was immediately accepted on scholarship to the prestigious American Conservatory Theatre, where he received his M.F.A. He has also studied acting with Stella Adler and Robert Lewis.

After graduating from the American Conservatory Theatre, he began to perform around the country in some of the top regional theaters. Wortham's credits include starring roles in "Tamara," "The Cherry Orchard," "Richard III," "Men's Singles," "Man and Superman" and "Our Town," at such theaters as the American Conservatory, South Coast Repertory and The Mark Taper Forum.

Wortham's numerous television credits include recurring roles on the series, "Babylon Five," "The Paper Chase" and "Max Headroom"; as well as guest stints on "E.R.," "Knots Landing," "The Twilight Zone," "Newhart," "Hill Street Blues," "St. Elsewhere" and "Harry and the Hendersons," to name a few.

When not required on the set, Wortham spends all of his time with his wife Mary Ellen, a photographer; their beautiful son, Max, and equally beautiful daughter, Tess.
