Markie Post Julia on Odd Man Out
Markie Post has been continuously involved in series television since the early 1980s. Her sixth series, "Odd Man Out," is from Ed Decter and John J. Strauss, the writing team behind the blockbuster movie, "There's Something About Mary," in which Markie appeared in a cameo role as the mother of Cameron Diaz's character, Mary.The daughter of a nuclear physicist, Markie was born in Palo Alto, California, and raised in nearby Walnut Creek. She graduated from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where she majored in theater arts. She co-starred with John Ritter and Billy Bob Thornton for three seasons in the series, "Hearts Afire," after appearing for seven seasons in the comedy, "Night Court," and three seasons in the action series, "The Fall Guy." She has also starred in several telefilms, including "Glitz," "Someone She Knows" and "Chasing the Dragon." Markie also shared a CableACE award for her executive producer duties on the "Presidential Inaugural Celebration for Children." Markie lives in the Los Angeles area with her writer/producer husband and their two daughters.
