Annie Whitman on life as we know it

A veteran of series television in both comedy and drama, Lisa Darr plays Annie Whitman in the new ABC drama series, "life as we know it," from writer-producers Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah.

Darr has had series regular roles on such television shows as "Popular," "Cursed," "Profit," "The Office," "Crime & Punishment" and "Flesh 'n' Blood," and recurring roles on hits like "Frasier," "Ellen," "Strong Medicine" and "NYPD Blue." In addition she has guest-starred in a number of made-for-television movies.

Darr's feature film credits include "Gods and Monsters," "Elevator Seeking" and "Defenseless."

Her theater credits are extensive and eclectic. She was a member of the cast of "Tamara" in Los Angeles for two years, in the title role, and for another year played the exceptional role of Emelia. She has also worked widely abroad on stage. She performed in "Fier Uhr Morgens" in Vienna --in German -- and in Paris performed in French at the Theatre Des Amandiers in the lauded production of "La Ronde." She has also played at Scotland's Edinburgh festival in the perennial favorite, "The Fantastiks."

Darr was born in Chicago and graduated from Stanford University, where she majored in biology. She then went on to UCLA, where she received a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting.
