Kelly Osbourne Deborah on life as we know it
Kelly Osbourne has done a lot of growing up - and all of it in the public eye. Three years ago she burst onto the scene as the wild child and outspoken daughter of rock legends Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne on the Emmy Award-winning hit MTV show, "The Osbournes." Never at a loss for words or emotions, Kelly struck a chord with young people everywhere, as they flocked to emulate her unique, creative style expressed in her fashion, cars and music.Kelly grew up splitting her time between the English countryside -- attending proper British schools with her sister, Aimee, and younger brother, Jack -- and hotel rooms and concert tour buses with her parents. In 1997, after an astounding coup led the first OZZfest to the top of the concert revenue charts, the Osbourne clan, including twelve-year-old Kelly, moved to Beverly Hills to be closer to work. The groundbreaking reality show may have introduced the world to the Osbourne family, but Kelly was eager to make her own mark on popular culture. Being born into a family with a legendary work ethic and business acumen, she naturally made her debut on the MTV Video Music Awards, singing her punked-up cover of Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach." She scored a hit with that track, and then dropped her candy-coated razor blade of a debut album, "Shut Up!" Gracing the covers of magazines and gossip columns, Kelly is always a favorite of the paparazzi. She toured the world, playing to a crowd of one million fans as the opening act on Robbie Williams' UK and European stadium tour. Corporate shake-ups caused her label to drop her from its roster and, true to form, Kelly came back with a vengeance. Releasing a four-song, three-video multimedia disc on Sanctuary, "Changes" featured the title track, a collaboration with her dad, Ozzy, a makeover of the 1972 Black Sabbath classic that quickly raced up the charts the world over. Kelly faced some fierce challenges, however, when she was forced to face her drug and alcohol addiction. With the support of her family, she entered a rehab facility. Her time there not only changed her life, it allowed her to find her creative voice. Working with producer Linda Perry (Pink, Lillix), her new album features tracks entirely written by Kelly. These days Kelly is busy preparing for her album release and her commute to Vancouver for filming her series -- all the while spending time with her family, driving her 1958 Chevy (an 18th-birthday present from her father) and adjusting to life without cameras in her home.
