Chris Eigeman
Arthur Garment on It's Like, You Know...

Chris Eigeman photo Before landing the role as Arthur, the diehard L.A-hating New York journalist in ABC's comedy series, "It's Like, You Know...," Chris Eigeman was well-established as a gifted actor. Of his character, Arthur Garment, Mr. Eigeman says, "Arthur is churlishly naive and amazed at all things Angeleno."

He starred in numerous films, including "The Last Days of Disco," "Mr. Jealousy," "Highball," "Metropolitan," "Barcelona" and "Kicking and Screaming." His performance in the latter film won him warm praise from The New York Times as "an especially welcome presence."

Mr. Eigeman is also an experienced theatrical actor, whose credits include a role in John Kolvenbach's off-Broadway comedy, "The Gravity of Means." He appeared in other off-Broadway productions, including "Henry IV," "Henry VI " and Wendy McCleod's "The House of Yes."

Mr. Eigeman was also Pac Bell Telephone's spokesperson in a popular series of wry commercials that took advantage of his comedic talents.

Born and raised in a suburban home in Denver, Mr. Eigeman got his first taste of theater as a teenager at the Putney School in Vermont. By the time he enrolled in Kenyon College in Ohio, majoring in English and drama, he knew he wanted a career as an actor. In those days, he performed in three shows a year and won the coveted Paul Newman Award for best actor in each graduating class.

After college, he lived in Seattle, then apprenticed for a year at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville, Kentucky, before moving to New York.

Mr. Eigeman currently lives in New York with his wife.
