Lauren Woods on It's like, you know...

A.J. Langer is neither a masseuse nor a process server, but she plays both on TV as the "can't quite figure out what to do with her life" denizen of Los Angeles, Lauren, on ABC's comedy series, "It's like, you know..."

Her character, Lauren, has come from Columbus to the City of Glitter in search of her dreams. Ms. Langer says, "She's fearless. She is charging through life, somewhat naive but still fearless. She's not sure what her dreams are, but she knows she'll find them in L.A. because: 'You don't look for your dreams in Ohio.'"

Ms. Langer is no stranger to creating memorable characters on the small and big screens. Perhaps best-known for her role as Rayanne Graff on the critically acclaimed, award-winning ABC drama series, "My So-Called Life," she also starred in Walt Disney Pictures' "Meet the Deedles." Last year, she returned to television in the Steven Bochco series, "Brooklyn South."

Ms. Langer was a series regular on "Drexell's Class," and she had a recurring role in "Coach." Her TV credits also include "Seinfeld," "Touched By an Angel," "The Wonder Years," "In the Heat of the Night," "Beverly Hills, 90210"; the Humanitarian Award-winning Schoolbreak Special, "Between Mother and Daughter"; and the miniseries, "Naomi & Wynnona: Love Can Build a Bridge."

Ms. Langer made her feature film debut as Alice in Wes Craven's "The People Under the Stairs." She co-starred in "And You Thought Your Parents Were Weird" and Paramount Pictures' "Escape From L.A," opposite Kurt Russell and directed by John Carpenter.

In her free time, the brown-eyed beauty loves sports, particularly football and baseball. Ms. Langer credits her older brother, Kirk, for athletic and other inspiration. Watching him play football, she says, is "where I learned about heart and dedication." She has recently taken up surfing.

Her other interests include adventure training and traveling.
