Eddie Cibrian Russell Varon on Invasion
A versatile actor who continues to expand his career in television and film, Eddie Cibrian is fast becoming one of the leading talented, young actors in the business. He starred for five seasons as firefighter Jimmy Doherty in the popular series "Third Watch," and also starred in the recent ESPN series, "Tilt." He will be seen on the big screen in "The Cave," a sci-fi/horror film for late summer 2005.Born and raised in Sylmar, California, Cibrian began acting at the age of 12, landing a Coca-Cola commercial on his first audition. After that success, he was cast in many other national commercials. Upon entering high school, Cibrian decided to put his acting career on hold to pursue his other passion - sports. He excelled in every sport he competed in -- including football, baseball, soccer and volleyball -- and graduated high school with several All-State honors. He continued his successful athletic career when he entered UCLA's football program in the fall of 1991. Unfortunately, an injury during his first year left him sidelined and with extra time on his hands. The lack of physical activity left a void in his life, so he decided to return to acting. Cibrian immediately landed several national commercials and, soon after, starred in the Emmy Award-winning television special, "Kids Killing Kids." The attention he garnered for his appearance on the special led to several soap opera auditions, one the role of Nick Newman on "The Young and the Restless." The show's producers felt Cibrian was too old to play Nick, but were impressed with his abilities and created another character for him, the conniving Matt Clark. Within three months he had so much fan mail that the network signed him to a three-year contract. He has guest starred in several television shows, including the daytime drama "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" and "Saved by the Bell: The College Years." He was a series regular on "Baywatch Nights," and soon thereafter Aaron Spelling offered him the starring role of Cole Deschanel on the daytime drama "Sunset Beach." Just five months after his debut, TV Guide named Cibrian one of "Daytime's 12 Hottest Stars." Cibrian also starred in the TV movie "Logan's War: Bound by Honor" and in the film "Living Out Loud," opposite Holly Hunter as her masseur. Other TV credits include the movie "Jackie's Back" and the miniseries "In the Beginning," with Martin Landau and Jacqueline Bisset. Feature films credits include "Say It Isn't So," with Heather Graham and Chris Klein, and "But I'm a Cheerleader." Cibrian is married and has a young son. In his spare time he enjoys golf, football, tennis and basketball, and is involved with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and several other charities.
